BOONE WOODS is a property that was acquired by the Conservation Board using REAP funds. It is a natural area of mature timber that covers 311 acres of rough terrain. There are numerous fire lanes that can be hiked on or used by equestrians. No motorized vehicles are allowed anywhere on this area at any time. This site is located southwest of Redding and is nestled in by the west fork of the Grand River. Boone Woods is an undisturbed oak-hickory forest remnant open to public hunting and is a very good turkey – deer site. Other activities allowed are cross country skiing, bird watching and walk in primitive camping.
